This website only uses essential cookies for the forum session.
We never sell, trade, or share personal data with third parties for marketing.
Contact form data is used only to respond to your message.

01 Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Passion Audio Player software (the "Software"), the website at passionplayer.com and its subdomains (the "Website"), and any communications you initiate with George Boudouris as the sole operator of this project (the "Operator").

By using the Software or visiting the Website you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. If you do not agree with any part of it, please discontinue use.

02 The Player Software

Passion Audio Player does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Specifically:

  • The Software does not connect to the internet at any point during normal operation unless you explicitly enable an internet-dependent feature (such as a Last.fm scrobbler plugin that you have installed and configured).
  • The Software contains no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or usage-tracking mechanisms of any kind.
  • No automatic update checks are performed. Version checks, if any, are initiated manually by the user from within the Software.
  • All configuration data (preferences, equalizer settings, playlists) is stored locally on your device in the Software's installation directory or your user profile folder. This data never leaves your machine.
  • Third-party plugins you install may have their own network behaviour. The Operator is not responsible for data practices of third-party plugins; please review their documentation separately.

03 This Website

When you visit passionplayer.com, standard web server logs are generated automatically by the hosting infrastructure. These logs may contain:

  • Your IP address (may be anonymised depending on hosting provider settings)
  • Date and time of the request
  • The URL requested
  • HTTP status code
  • Referring URL and browser user-agent string

This information is used solely for security monitoring and diagnosing server errors. It is not linked to any personal identity, is not shared with third parties for commercial purposes, and is automatically purged on a rolling basis as defined by the hosting provider's retention policy (typically 30–90 days).

The Website does not use third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any equivalent tracking technology.

04 Contact Form Data

When you submit a message via the contact form, the following information is collected:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • The subject category you selected
  • The content of your message
  • Any optional fields you completed (e.g. player version for bug reports)

This data is used only to respond to your enquiry. It is not added to any mailing list, sold, or shared with any third party. Messages are retained in the Operator's email inbox for as long as is reasonably necessary to resolve the matter, and are deleted thereafter.

If you contact the Operator directly by email, your message and email address are handled under the same terms.

05 Community Forum

The community forum is hosted as a separate service. When you register for the forum, the forum software collects a username, email address, and password (stored hashed). Your publicly posted content (threads, replies, attached files) is visible to all visitors.

The forum operates under its own terms and privacy settings, which are accessible from the forum itself. You may request deletion of your forum account by contacting the Operator via the contact page.

The Operator does not sell or share forum registration data with third parties.

06 Cookies

The main website (passionplayer.com) does not set any cookies except those strictly necessary for technical operation.

Cookie Purpose Duration Type
session_id Maintains your login session on the forum Session / 30 days Strictly necessary
csrf_token Prevents cross-site request forgery on forms Session Strictly necessary

No advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies are set. No consent banner is displayed because no non-essential cookies are used.

07 Third Parties

The Website loads fonts from Google Fonts via a standard CDN request. This means Google's servers receive your IP address and browser information when the fonts are fetched. If you prefer to block this, you may use a browser extension that intercepts CDN requests, or disable Google Fonts in your browser settings.

No other third-party scripts, pixels, or services are embedded in or loaded by this Website.

The Operator will never sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

08 Data Retention

Data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected:

  • Server logs — purged automatically within 30–90 days by the hosting provider.
  • Contact form / email correspondence — retained until the matter is resolved, then deleted. No longer than 2 years in any case.
  • Forum account data — retained for as long as your account is active. Request deletion at any time.

09 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding personal data the Operator holds about you:

  • Access — request a copy of personal data held about you.
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing of your data in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, contact the Operator via the contact page. Requests will be responded to within 30 days.

If you are an EU/EEA resident and believe your rights under GDPR have not been upheld, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

10 Children's Privacy

The Software and Website are not directed at children under the age of 13. The Operator does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal data via the contact form or forum, please contact the Operator immediately and the data will be deleted.

11 Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. When it is, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the Software or Website after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Significant changes will be announced on the website homepage.
